The University of Texas at Austin seeks a visionary leader to serve as Senior Vice Provost for Resource Management (SVPRM). Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Provost, the SVPRM has broad oversight and responsibility for developing and administering University academic resources, including academic budget planning, implementation, and reporting; academic facilities and space management; and data management. Serving as primary advisor to the Executive Vice President & Provost (also known as EVP-P) on academic resource planning, development, and management, the SVPRM plays a broad, multi-faceted role in ensuring the success of the University and the development and management of its academic resources.
Under the direction of the Provost and President and through consultation with the Deans, the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (SVP-CFO), and other executive leadership, the SVPRM oversees the University’s academic operating budget. Informed by strategic priorities and investments established by the President and Provost, s/he develops budget strategies and plans to enable targeted investments in areas that will further differentiate the University from its peers. In the coming years, such investments will improve student access and advance student success, recruit and retain a world-class faculty, enhance support for graduate education, and expand or upgrade academic, research, and administrative space.
By providing strategic stewardship of the resources that enable the University to carry out its education and research activities, the SVPRM advances the goals and enables the mission of one of the country’s leading public research institutions. The SVPRM is a critical partner in advancing strategic priorities of the university. S/he provides budgetary and capital leadership of the Faculty Investment Initiative, the Graduate Investment Initiative, and multiple space planning projects, including renovation of academic and research space within the colleges/schools, as well as overseeing large-scale initiatives for the Provost’s portfolio such as the Center for Career Exploration and Development, the One-Stop Student Services Center, and a revitalized UT Austin Welcome Center.
