Faculty Awards
Annually, nearly $2 million in awards are distributed across The University of Texas at Austin. The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost administers the selection of university-wide teaching awards and the Sidney E. Mezes Award, which provides financial support to faculty members who may be in need of assistance due to unexpected circumstances.
Faculty and staff are advised to closely review award criteria and deadlines. Many awards, especially University-wide Teaching Awards, have a limited number of nominations per college or school. Faculty interested in being nominated for an award should consult with their chair, director, or dean’s office regarding nomination procedures within their unit. Colleges and schools are expected to maintain their own internal nomination and review processes for University awards with CSU nomination limits.
