What we do
Part of the Office of Academic Affairs, the mission of the Office of Academics and Curriculum is to streamline and enhance academic processes across UT, ensuring that all academic programs meet state and University-wide standards and that they align with our institution’s commitment to produce leaders equipped with a broad, foundational education.
Central to our mission is administration of the University’s general education courses, including the University’s Core Curriculum courses and the Skills and Experience Flags. Also central to our mission is supporting curriculum management, assessment and evaluation, University accreditation, University testing services and performing research on curricula and student engagement, which are all integral to the academic success and continuous improvement of our University.
Accreditation Management
Serve as the liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), manage institutional accreditation processes and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Assessment and Evaluation
Oversee and manage the assessment of academic programs, service units and academic technology, providing policy guidance and operational support.

General Education
Manage the Core Curriculum state requirements and coordinate and support the University's Skills and Experience Flags.
Research and Learning Analytics
Conduct curricular research and expand the University's capacity for using learning analytics to support data-driven decision making; collaborate with campus partners to enhance teaching, learning and accessibility.
Undergraduate Curriculum Changes
Provide coordination and tracking of changes to the undergraduate curriculum, including guidance on required approvals and compliance with external agencies.

Provide a broad range of professional and academic testing and evaluation services to members of the University community, residents of the state of Texas and beyond.
