Faculty Summer Jobs Guidance

CSU contacts may now begin initiating summer 2020 faculty jobs in Workday. Visit the Academic Employment Workday page for updated guidance and training materials.
Prior to processing faculty summer jobs, CSU contacts should review the recently revised Summer Coverage for Faculty Human Resources page. Note that if a faculty member would like to cancel their pre-payment for summer insurance premiums because they have a benefits eligible summer job, they must take action to do so by Friday, May 8 (see the Pre-Payment Cancellation section in the link above for details).

APS Website Updates

We continue to update the APS website regularly in an effort to ensure it remains a valuable resource of faculty affairs guidance for the campus community.
Recent additions to the Announcements banner include:
We have also added a new link to the Faculty Hiring section of the website titled How to Increase SWH for Early Start Faculty. This documentation provides an overview of how to add Scheduled Weekly Hours (SWH) and the correct Compensation Plan(s) in Workday for tenure and tenure-track faculty who were initially hired for an early start period at zero SWH and subsequently need to be paid for work performed in the summer and/or academic year.

Recent Improvements to the PAR

In March, eBITS released several improvements to how the Prior Approval Request (PAR) connects to Workday. One of these improvements allows for the conversion of an Academic Affiliate to Employee to be completed as part of the PAR integration (the manual Hire of Academic Affiliates is no longer required). Note that the conversion of a Contingent Worker to Employee still requires a manual Hire.
Please direct questions to Academic Personnel Services at evpp-aps@utexas.edu.
