Dear UT Community,
I am writing to inform you of an important change to our 2023-24 academic calendar. After careful consideration and collaborative discussions with community members and leaders from both UT and the city of Austin, we have decided to move next year’s spring break one week earlier than originally planned. Therefore, the University’s 2024 spring break will now be March 11-15.
This adjustment puts UT back into alignment with the spring break schedules of the Austin Independent School District and other local ISDs — as well as with the 2024 SXSW Conference and Festivals — allowing students, staff, and faculty to better coordinate travel plans, work schedules, and time-off requests.
