Supporting Experiential Learning for All Longhorns Through the Texas Career Engagement Internship Fund

All Longhorns deserve access to the skill building and career networking that internships can provide. That’s why, for the third year, the university will offer the Texas Career Engagement (TCE) Internship Fund. Launched in 2021, the Internship Fund works to increase access to experiential learning opportunities by providing financial support to students who might not otherwise be able to pursue unpaid internships.

In 2022, TCE awarded a total of $331,436 to 101 students participating in unpaid internships, thanks in part to a $250,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Recipients included undergraduates of all class years and graduate and professional students, representing majors from 14 colleges and schools across the university.

Learn how the fund made an impact in these students’ lives:

Priority to the scholarship funds will be given to applicants with the highest financial need. Students who are selected can receive funding equal to a $15/hour wage, up to a maximum of $2,000 based on their internship hours. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible if they are currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin and their internship concludes before graduation. Internships must be unpaid, off-campus and take place between June 1-August 11 to qualify.

Know a student who should apply? The Internship Fund application opens on Tuesday, March 21. Visit the TCE website for more details.
