Guidelines for Charging Faculty Summer Salary to Sponsored Projects

Dear Colleagues,

The new Guidelines for Charging Faculty Summer Salary to Sponsored Projects have been finalized and can be found on the Faculty Resources & Academic Personnel Services page at https://provost.utexas.edu/aps-faculty/.

The new guidelines were drafted in consultation with the Office for the Vice President for Research and the Office of Sponsored Projects to address compliance issues with faculty who are appointed 100% during summers on sponsored funding. These summer funding changes are not expected to impact all faculty and are only applicable to those faculty who are 100% on sponsored funds during the summer months. As a reminder, faculty appointment dates are not changing and will remain September 1-May 31 for the long session.

The attestation form mentioned in the Guidelines will be made available on the Office for Sponsored Research’s site later in the week for faculty who want to request 100% effort on sponsored projects. In addition, faculty summer job processing documentation will be updated in the coming weeks with information from the new Guidelines.
