Child & Dependent Care Options for Faculty

This page provides information about a range of child and dependent care programs. Faculty who are expecting a child can find information about University benefits and leave options here.

The University operates three child care locations. The Child Development Center offers developmental early childhood program for children six weeks to five years of age. Space is limited, so there is often a waiting list. Information about enrollment and waiting list can be found here.

Faculty Recruitment Program

In coordination with EVPP Faculty Affairs, the Child Development Center commits fourteen spaces each fall to new faculty recruits for whom child care is a critical factor in their choosing to come to UT Austin. Commitments must be made no later than May 1 for spaces being requested for the coming academic year. Information about the program is available here.

UT HealthPoint Work/Life Balance Services partners with Care.com to provide benefits-eligible employees and their family members access to an array of work-life resource and referral services. Care.com specialists can assist with child care and dependent care options, child safety, parenting resources, schools, pregnancy, adoption, special needs, summer camps, etc. Visit HealthPoint Work/Life Balance Services here for more information about Care.com resources.

Career Success which facilitates the HireUTexas job board does not offer personal advertisements, but they provide the following list of external child and dependent care selection resources. EVPP and Career Success are not able to officially endorse these sites, but hope they help faculty connect with caregiving applicants:
