AUSTIN, Texas – Interim Provost Judith H. Langlois has reappointed Alexa Stuifbergen as dean of the School of Nursing, effective immediately.
“Based on a report delivered to me by the review committee I charged to conduct a thorough review of Dean Stuifbergen’s contributions as dean, it is clear to me that she has provided outstanding leadership to the school, and helped to cement her reputation as a national leader in nursing education and research,” stated Langlois in an email sent to the School of Nursing community.
The School of Nursing is regularly ranked among the top programs in the country. Stuifbergen’s reappointment solidifies the school’s prestigious reputation as a top program moving forward.
“I would also like to thank the review committee for their hard work and engagement during this process, and Sharon Brown for her excellent leadership as chair of this review,” said Langlois regarding the committee’s work. “This is a critical role in ensuring we make the best possible decision, and I appreciate their service.”
Dean Stuifbergen is a widely respected leader and academic, and was first appointed dean of the School of Nursing on December 15, 2010. This reappointment is part of the mandatory six-year review done for all deans at UT Austin.
