UT Austin faculty and staff now have access to Eduroam, a WiFi service that allows faculty, staff, students, and affiliates to obtain Internet connectivity easily and at no charge. This services is now available at colleges and universities worldwide and can be accessed with a UT EID and password.
To utilize the service, the institution being visited must offer Eduroam as one of its on-campus WiFi capabilities. A list of participating institutions around the world can be found here.
University colleagues visiting the UT Austin campus will also be able to utilize Eduroam.
How to Access Eduroam
Accessing Eduroam when visiting other institutions on university business is similar to using the “utexas” WiFi network:
1) Connect to the “eduroam” WiFi network
2) For the username, enter: [myEID]@utexas.edu (myEID is your personal UT EID - do not include the brackets)
3) The password is your UT EID password
4) Click “OK” (you may be asked to approve/trust a certificate)
More instructions may be found here (UT EID required).
