It is with great pleasure that I announce Carolyn Landel will serve as the inaugural associate vice provost for academic collaborations, effective January 21, 2020.
In the newly created role, Carolyn will facilitate collaboration among faculty members and departments to cultivate ideas for student support services and world-changing research endeavors. Her role will also support academic endeavors by securing resources to transform the influence, position, and impact of the university.
Carolyn joins us from the Charles A. Dana Center where she currently serves as managing director. There, she is responsible for day-to-day operations, strategic partnerships, and fundraising. In her six years in the position, the center has grown from 70 to 85 staff and annual revenues have increased from $12M to $18M.
Prior to Dana Center, she served as the chief program officer for Washington STEM and supervised the implementation of a $12M National Science Foundation-funded project at Western Washington University. Carolyn has 20 years of leadership experience in math and science education, change management, and organizational development, and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago.
I am confident we have chosen a fantastic colleague in Carolyn. Please join me in congratulating her as she transitions into this important role to support faculty members.
Sincerely,
Maurie McInnis
