About the Award
The L. H. Cullum Endowment Award recognizes the excellence and contributions of full-time professional-track faculty to the University and is intended to support continuing faculty improvement.

Nominee Qualifications and Evaluation Criteria
Eligible faculty must
- Be a full-time mid-career professional-track faculty member who must
- Be in the instruction, clinical, lecturer or practice titles, and who must
- Hold an appointment at the associate or full professor rank or senior lecturer or Distinguished Senior Lecturer rank at the time of application
- Have served a minimum of three (3) full academic years as 100% FTE professional-track faculty member at UT Austin at time of application
- Hold a full-time professional-track faculty appointment in both fall and spring semesters of the award year
- Not concurrently hold another major endowment in the same academic year as the L.H. Cullum endowment
- Not hold a primary appointment in Dell Medical School
The faculty member must have demonstrated evidence of excellence in their UT Austin faculty work through any or all of the following contributions:
- Research, scholarship, creative endeavors, or
- Leadership of major curriculum redesign or significant course improvement, or
- Clinical training, or
- Strategic academic leadership.
Nomination Materials Required
Faculty must be nominated for the endowment by their supervisor (chair, director or dean).
Supervisor (provided separately by supervisor):
- Nomination form and
- Narrative of support (up to 500 words maximum)
Nominee (provided separately by nominee):
- Nominee form,
- CV (4-page maximum), and
- Nominee statement (2-page maximum)
Award Amount
$4,000 salary supplement* and L.H. Cullum Fellow designation during the subsequent academic year
