Dear Faculty Colleagues,
I am thrilled to announce that Jen Moon will join the provost’s Faculty Affairs team as the University’s inaugural Vice Provost for Professional-Track Faculty!
Vice Provost Moon has been a leader and an influential member of the UT community, demonstrating commitment to both faculty and student success throughout her career. She is a Professor of Instruction in the Biology Instructional Office and Department of Molecular Biosciences in the College of Natural Sciences and served two terms as chair of Faculty Council from 2022 to 2024. She has received recognition for her outstanding teaching, including the Regents Outstanding Teaching Award, the President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award, the Natural Science Council Faculty Service Award, and the College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award. In addition, she was selected as a member of UT’s Distinguished Service Academy and was also recently inducted into the UT System Academy of Distinguished Teachers.
Over 50% of our faculty are on the professional track, and Vice Provost Moon is dedicated to supporting and advancing their careers through the development of community, programs, policies, and resources. She will be a key collaborator with faculty and administrators in colleges, schools, and departments as we continue to refine our offerings for professional-track faculty.
On a personal note, I have worked with Jen for several years now in my administrative role and have appreciated her consistent positivity, patience, and creativity. I am very much looking forward to our continuing collaboration in support of UT’s professional-track faculty.
Please join me in welcoming Vice Provost Moon to the Faculty Affairs team. If you have any questions about our professional-track faculty efforts or suggestions for future programming, please contact us.
Thank you and have a wonderful fall term.
Sincerely,
TASHA BERETVAS | Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
