The Roy Crane Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts has been given to seven students in the category of the literary arts. The award rotates annually between performing, literary, and visual arts, and all undergraduate and graduate students at UT Austin from any major or area of study may compete for the award.
This year 51 applications were submitted.
Awardee portfolios included artwork in the following mediums: painting, animation, woodwork, digital art, illustration, sketches, 3-D Modeling, photography, zine, digital media, sculpture, and textiles.

To be considered for the award a student must submit an application and a portfolio. The selection committee was chaired by Scherezade Garcia-Vazquez, a professor in the Department of Art and Art History.
