Dear colleagues,
We are excited to announce the launch of Data to Insights (D2I), a new campus-wide initiative that will help better align our data resources to inform effective and timely decision making, as well as further enable UT’s strategic planning efforts. As co-sponsors, we will be working with deans and university leaders to engage stakeholders across campus and ensure these efforts are aligned with the broader strategic planning process.
The university has recruited Dr. Brad Wheeler, a highly experienced and knowledgeable leader, to coordinate this effort. Brad will serve as the Chief Strategist to the President for D2I, effective immediately. Previously, Brad served in a similar role at Indiana University where he is a faculty member in the Kelley School of Business. His experience and vision will be a tremendous benefit as he advises us and our partners across campus, and we look forward to supporting these efforts.
You can find details about the scope of this project, the timeline and a list of FAQs on this website. It will be regularly updated as milestones are met and progress is made. Brad and his team will be actively engaging our many stakeholders and partners across campus, and we encourage you to provide feedback or ask questions through our feedback form. In order for the work of D2I to have the positive impact we desire, we will need to change some processes and how we report and collaborate around data. Partnership with the colleges, schools and units will be instrumental as we move forward, and we appreciate your support.
Improving how we leverage data across campus will be critical to our success as the highest impact public research university. We look forward to working with Brad — and with all of you — to achieve our goals.
