Curriculum and Academic Administration

Curriculum and Academic Administration (CAA) serves as the university’s central hub for
undergraduate academic infrastructure, overseeing the full lifecycle of curriculum—from
concept to implementation. CAA ensures that all curriculum actions are efficient, transparent,
compliant, and aligned with institutional strategy.

CAA is a cross-functional academic operations office within the Office of Academic Affairs that partners with:

  • The Office of the Registrar
  • Academic Colleges and Departments
  • State and Accrediting Agencies

We serve as both process experts and strategic advisors, helping faculty and leadership navigate complex approval pathways while reducing administrative burden.

CAA plays a critical role in ensuring that:

  • Students have clear, efficient academic pathways
  • Faculty can innovate without unnecessary barriers
  • The university remains compliant, competitive, and forward-looking

We are not just managing curriculum—we are building the academic framework that supports student success and institutional excellence.

This approach allows us to accelerate approvals while maintaining academic integrity and compliance.

Low-Producing Program (LPP) Reviews
In a joint effort with the Graduate School, the Office of Curriculum and Academic Administration (CAA) coordinates institutional reviews for degree programs falling below graduate thresholds established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). CAA originates and organizes the official evaluation and submission templates, while partnering with the Graduate School on departmental outreach and compliance tracking.

Timelines coming soon

University Review Committees play crucial roles in the Curriculum Change Proposal (CCP) process by evaluating proposals from colleges, schools, and departments to ensure educational quality and compliance with institutional policies. These committees, such as the Undergraduate Curriculum Review Committee (UCRC) review and forward proposals to the provost and other relevant approvers for final approval.
