Authorization to use Textbook or Digital Resource Written by a Member of the Faculty at UT Austin

Textbook or Digital Resource Authorization Forms are used by University of Texas at Austin faculty to request the approval of the use of a textbook, notebook or manual, or digital resource, etc., which the faculty member contributed to or wrote for sale to and use by students, which is required by Handbook of Operating Procedures 2-9990.

Textbook or Digital Resource Authorization forms should meet the following requirements:

  • Name(s) of the author/Publisher(s)/Vendor; in the case of multiple authors or Publisher(s)/Vendor(s), the UT Austin faculty member’s name should be listed first
  • Approval of the dean and the department chair, if applicable
  • Cost to student should not result in faculty profit of more than 25% per volume

Departmentalized

Textbook or Digital Resource Authorization form for departmentalized units.

Non-Departmentalized

Textbook or Digital Resource Authorization form for non-departmentalized units.
