President’s Faculty Advisory Cohort

President’s Faculty Advisory Cohort (FAC) Membership

The FAC is a new body of distinguished faculty who will play an important role in advising University leadership and supporting key academic functions across the Forty Acres. The FAC brings together faculty from across our schools and colleges who have been selected in recognition of their academic leadership, the esteem in which they are held by their colleagues and their demonstrated commitment to the University’s mission. Members were nominated through a collaborative process involving deans and senior faculty and were appointed by the President and Provost.

The Cohort will serve as a flexible and engaged advisory body. In addition to occasional full-cohort meetings, FAC members may be called upon to participate in smaller committees, task forces and working groups addressing specific institutional priorities and challenges. These efforts will include areas such as curriculum development, educational and technology policy, faculty review processes, grievance and appeals procedures and library and academic resource policies.

Service on the FAC is designed to be both meaningful and manageable. Members will serve renewable two-year terms and will contribute their expertise in ways that support the University’s continued pursuit of excellence. Their insight and leadership will help ensure that the University of Texas at Austin remains responsive to the needs of our academic community while advancing our mission as a leading public research university.
