Accrediting Agencies Affiliated with UT Austin

Requests to add/withdraw professional accredited status should receive institutional-level consideration since it can impact students and require input and/or action at the undergraduate and graduate levels. For this reason, the director of curriculum and academic administration should be included in the chain of authority for review/notification when there is a change in a program’s accreditation status.

To support review, please complete the following discipline-specific information when a change in accreditation status is requested and send to academicadmin@austin.utexas.edu.

  1. Do the affected degrees lead to professional licensure? If so, will a loss of accreditation status negatively impact program graduates?
  2. Are peer/aspirational programs accredited? If so, will a loss of accreditation status impact UT Austin’s competitiveness?
  3. How will students be informed?
