AUSTIN, Texas – UT Austin has launched a new web portal for students, called MyUT, providing a single point-of-access to all the information they need to conduct their university business.
Students can access the portal by visiting my.utexas.edu.
MyUT is personalized to each student and is designed to work seamlessly on mobile devices, tablets and desktops. The portal makes it possible for students to have a single sign-on to Canvas, and to view information about their tuition, financial aid, registration, secure academic notes and much more.
The portal was first introduced this summer during new student orientations, and they registered for classes using MyUT. Approximately 1,500 new students were introduced to the portal each week.
“This new student portal vastly improves access to the tools and resources our students need, and they’ll be able to get the information they need when and where they need it,” said David Laude, senior vice provost for enrollment and curriculum services. “The portal will support students throughout their academic careers, and give them better access to the tools they need to succeed at UT.”
While developing the MyUT portal, the project team consulted with focus groups, surveys, and web analytics to better meet students’ needs. By student request, the portal primarily focuses on academic, financial and human resource functionalities. New features like targeted messaging, calendar integration and the ability for colleges to add content for their students will be added over the next year.
In the future, MyUT will become available to faculty and staff.
