Save the Date: Texas Teach-Up 2023

Texas Teach-Up is returning on February 7-8, 2023! Instructors of all levels and from all colleges and schools will be opening the doors to their classrooms and inviting you in for a non-evaluative, reflective peer observation practice. This year’s TxTU “roster” and course registration will open in January, so stay tuned for more information coming in the new year, or visit the Texas Teach-Up website for more information.

Syllabus Resource

The Provost’s Office webpage “Your Syllabus at UT Austin” is a central repository for language to include in your syllabus. The webpage lists required content, highly recommended content, and wording or resources for other content that you might want to include in your syllabus. In order to make syllabus updates easy, there is a customizable template that includes wording for all required disclosures. The website content is maintained by Academic Affairs and created in collaboration with all relevant offices across campus, including Disability and Access, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, Student Affairs, Legal Affairs, and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Reminder: Robert W. Hamilton Book Awards

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors and the University Co-operative Society are seeking applications for the 2022-2023 Hamilton Book Awards. The Hamilton Book Awards are open to faculty or staff members who, in the preceding calendar year (January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022), have published the best book-length publications as determined by a multi-disciplinary committee of scholars appointed by the Vice President for Research. Multiple entries per author may be accepted.

Grand Prize: $10,000

Three Finalist Prizes: $3,000 each

The deadline to submit your book is Tuesday, January 17, 2023. If you have questions, please contact honorific-vpr@austin.utexas.edu.

Please reach out with any faculty-related questions to the Faculty Affairs team. We’re here to support you in any way we can.

Stay well and enjoy your break!
