Dear Faculty,
I hope these first few weeks of the fall term have gone smoothly and you are as excited as I am to see so many students and colleagues back on campus.
I am reaching out today to share important information about our testing services and accommodations for students. Last year, Testing & Evaluation Services partnered with Disability and Access (SSD’s new name) to provide a centralized testing location in the Campus Testing Center (CTC) in the George I. Sánchez Building for in-person accommodated tests. With the success of this pilot, I am pleased to share that this collaboration will continue with support from the Provost’s Office.
I know the continuation of the CTC is welcome news for many who have seen the steady increase in students requesting testing accommodations over the years. The new location and partnership has allowed us to expand our capacity to serve our students.
In addition to providing testing accommodations for students registered with Disability and Access, the CTC will now offer options for students who have conflicts during final exams. This added service will provide more testing locations and flexibility during the shortened final exam time under the new academic calendar. Faculty can initiate this option for students through RegisterBlast in Canvas. Details and FAQs about RegisterBlast can be found here.
If you have any questions about the Campus Testing Center or RegisterBlast, please reach out to campustesting@austin.utexas.edu.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and their success during this busy fall term.
Sincerely,
Sharon L. Wood
Executive Vice President and Provost
