Faculty Search Committee Workshops – New Dates for 2022-23 Academic Year
You can now register for the Faculty Search Committee workshops. Recruiting top faculty to UT Austin is one of the most important things the university does every year. The workshops provide information to help search committee members understand how to yield a wide and diverse pool of candidates, and how to fairly and equitably evaluate them. Part 1 is the online self-guided faculty search committee course. Part 2 is the live Zoom workshop that faculty search committees will attend as a group. If you are serving on a search committee this year, please register for and complete Part 1 now, and work with your committee to find a time from the offered Part 2 workshops to attend together.
Accepting Applications: Faculty Development Programs
- The Faculty Development Leave (FDL) program provides tenured faculty with paid leave from teaching and service responsibilities. This program will allow faculty to dedicate their time to research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.
- The Faculty Development Award (FDA) program is for mid-career and senior professional-track faculty that provides up to $10,000 to support professional development opportunities and activities for each awardee.
More information about the specifics (eligibility, application content, etc.) for each of these two programs can be found on the respective FDA and FDL web pages including the general guidelines for UT Austin as well as college/school-specific guidelines. Applications close on Monday, October 3.

HOP 5-2011 now requires all university employees to complete an annual disclosure. In addition, it requires that all faculty receive prior approval for any outside professional activities, except for those on the pre-approved list. Please review the policy updates closely and contact Michelle Stickler, Associate VP for Research and Director of the Office for Research Support and Compliance with questions.
