Institutional Priorities

We provide leadership and support to the campus community through initiatives that advance the academic mission of the university. Working collaboratively with campus leaders and stakeholders, these initiatives support the creation of knowledge and discovery and improve access to resources and opportunities.

In Fall 2023, the UT Honor Code was established as a means to strengthen a culture of academic accountability and responsibility.

COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey

COACHE is a national program operating from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This faculty job satisfaction survey research allows the university to understand faculty satisfaction and climate issues, and compare them with faculty at peer institutions.

New initiative to help increase the number of faculty who will further UT’s critical goals by attracting and hiring candidates with outstanding scholarly records.

A new one-year, scholarship-focused 1:1 mentoring program for tenured and tenure-track faculty that augments traditional, within-department faculty mentoring at UT by facilitating mentor-mentee pairing across departments, or even across colleges.

Through a campus-wide partnership with students, faculty and staff, the university's academic calendar has been modified to better meet educational needs, support immediate and long-term innovation, and support our academic mission, while ensuring compliance with university guidelines and federal and state regulations.

The Texas Global Virtual Exchange Initiative encourages UT Austin faculty to co-create collaborative online international learning courses with peers at universities around the world. Virtual exchanges foster meaningful, sustainable, and accessible international experiences for all UT Austin students.

Texas Global Faculty Research Seed Grants support faculty with peer collaborators at institutions abroad to conduct research that addresses global challenges.

UT for Me – Powered By Dell Scholars

In 2020, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and UT Austin began a historic new partnership to close the gap in graduation rates across income levels. This effort will dramatically expand individualized support services for all Pell-eligible students through UT for Me – Powered by Dell Scholars program.

Longhorn Textbook Access

Longhorn Textbook Access (LTA) is a new initiative designed to reduce the cost of digital textbooks and other digital course materials for students. Faculty choose the learning materials that best support their course objectives as they have done in the past, and LTA helps provide students access to the materials at the lowest possible cost. This university-wide initiative is coordinated in partnership with the University Co-op.

Tuition Payment Deadline and Funds Flow (TPFF) Working Group

The TPFF working group was created to simplify the timing and payment processes of students’ tuition and other direct costs bills and to align with the disbursement of financial aid.

Global Career Launch is an innovative comprehensive global internship framework for undergraduate and graduate students to engage in high-impact work and research experiences abroad.

Internal Transfer Policy Working Group

The purpose of this project is to implement the recommendations of the Internal Transfer Policy Working Group to build a centralized undergraduate internal transfer application and timeline that is used by all CSUs. The project will also include establishing a holistic review score for each applicant that is shared with CSUs.

Texas Exes and Texas Career Engagement partnered with colleges and schools across the university to launch HookedIn, the official networking platform for UT Austin students and alumni to connect, grow and give back.
